Nicknamed the “get together girl” Paul-Ann Gray was always the one planning the fun parties. After years in the medical field, she decided to follow her passion for making people happy, and thus became the Founder of My Party Divas – a full service design and decor studio located in Atlanta offering balloon decor, custom invitations, custom centerpieces, draping, up lighting and much more.
What was your biggest struggle when you started and how did you overcome it?
When I first started my biggest struggle was building a portfolio, I started reaching out to my immediate contacts requesting to do work at a reduced rate in order to build my portfolio as well as build a client base.
What is your signature service or attribute that set you a part in your market?
My best attribute is being able to be flexible and not panic under pressure. I have a way of calming situations and that has been the one thing my clients have often commented about when working with me. I can take an anxious client and turn them into a confident, calm and joyous host.
What do you enjoy most about what you do?
I love to throw a party and I absolutely love to see people enjoying a celebration so my favorite part of my job is seeing the delight in my clients face when they see a well-dressed room that is ready for the party.

One of my favorite books I have read but re-read in the past year is Leadership Gold by John Maxwell
What do you wish you would have known when you started your business?
I wish when I made the decision to start my business I would have first gone to see an accountant that would sit me down and tell me that there is a whole other side to being an entrepreneur beyond the talent, skill, and creativity. I wish I had pursued the education for running, building and growing a small business into a successful corporation
